Good and Evil

One of the questions that we have to deal with is the origin of evil and sin. The scriptures indicate there were three archangels created along with the rest of the angels. These archangels were: Gabriel, Lucifer, and Michael. Yahweh assigned a third of the angels to each of the archangels. Their jobs were: Gabriel to bring God’s words to creation, Lucifer to bring back to heaven creation’s worship (the response to receiving God’s words) and Michael to carry out God’s commands to the universe.

The archangels were created to lead the other angels. They were given volition, that is the ability to choose to obey or not. I do not believe that the other angels were created with volition but only as servants, to carry out their assigned duties. The angels were ordered in a hierarchical structure with a single archangel at the top of the structure. The archangels had direct access to Yahweh. None of the angels were sexual. They were neutral, that is neither, male or female. They were created and named before man existed. The trouble came when Lucifer purposed to take some of the worship destined for Yahweh for himself. This was pride, he made himself higher than God since he decided that he could overrule God’s assignment. Of course Yahweh, being all knowing was aware of what Lucifer was up to and cased Lucifer and his third of the angels out of heaven into the universe. Lucifer’s third of the angels had not say in this. They simply were created to obey Lucifer, thus were guilty also and shared his fate. This happened sometime before the creation of man. Lucifer was the first creature to rebel against God and became sin. Before then sin and rebellion did not exist. Lucifer sought a place in creation where he could be god and receive worship. He found it in a small planet in the Milky Way galaxy orbiting a small star called the sun, planet earth. He established his structure over the earth. Yahweh then responded to this by coming to earth and taking the dust of the earth to form man, Adam, who name in the Hebrew means red earth. Adam was actually part of the very planet. You could almost say that the planet was his mother, since God used the dust of the earth to form his substance and then breathed Life into him as his Father. This is why mankind likens the earth to mother earth, because of man being part dust and part Life.

Adam was perfect man. He was fully human and fully divine. He had an eternal spirit which gave him access to Yahweh and a perfect body which gave access to the physical world. He used 100% of his spirit and 100% of his body. He walked and talked with Yahweh in the Garden. He heard Father’s voice, saw Him, touched Him and was touched by Him, tasted the spiritual food He provided and smelled His sweet fragrance. He was able to do all that those following him ever did and more. He was unrestricted. For example, Phillip was translated from one location to another; Paul was taken to the third heaven. These were fallen men Adam was not. So it is not hard to believe that Adam could move around the earth in the twinkling of an eye, and why not go under the sea to name the creatures there as well. He also had access to Heaven, probably unrestricted access. He would have been well acquainted with angels and the spiritual realm, as well as the physical realm. I kind of doubt that he paid much attention to the difference between the two. He was equally and continually at home in both. He also would have had a photographic memory, being able to remember, everything he ever saw, heard, touched, smelled, tasted, said or did. If you take the best talents that man has ever had and multiply them and put them in one man, you have Adam, The Davids, Solomons, Pauls, Westleys, Finneys, Einstines, Newtons, Da Vinci’s, Michangelos, and Bachs could not compete with Adam. He was far above superior than them all together, perfect in humanity and without sin.  He was trained by Yahweh Himself, face to face.

We do not know how long that Adam was in the Garden. It could have been a short time or it could have been years. We have a clue in that it is written that God planted the Garden. It takes several years for a fruit tree to grow to maturity to bear fruit. We do know that he was there long enough to name all of the animals and inspect them to find that none of them were suitable for a companion. So Father put Adam asleep and removed one of his ribs and created Eve from Adam’s flesh, not from the earth. She was literally bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. The two were literally one flesh and one life. It is interesting to note that Yahweh did not breathe life into Eve, but used the life already in Adam’s rib to give her life.

Adam and Eve were commanded to fruitful and multiply to fill the earth, to replenish and subdue the earth, to take dominion over all the creatures on the earth, including Lucifer and his angels.  Man was designed to rule; to pursue, to take dominion, to subdue, to reproduce and to know Him. It’s in his genes. Woman was designed to nurture both her man and her children. She was given a desire for children, for security and safety, for good nourishing food, peaceful, pleasant surrounding, for loving touch, for knowing what’s going on around her by knowing her husband and Father. These attributes were put there by Yahweh so that they would have the tools for fulfilling His commands to them.

Yahweh gave the fruit of all the trees in the Garden including the Tree of Life. He also commanded them to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, less they surely die. All of the knowledge that Adam had came from Yahweh from his walks with God and all of it was righteous, not a single thought of evil. Eve gained her knowledge from Adam and their joint walks with God. They had no other source of knowledge, except the Tree of good and evil. Adam and Eve knew nothing of evil or sin, only good. They did not know that the human body could be used for sin, for evil.

Lucifer now had a problem, two enemies who had been given authority to subdue him and take what he had claimed from him, including the worship he longed for. Lucifer could not touch them for they were righteous and knew no sin. So Lucifer only had one option to gain back what he had just lost. Lucifer had to deceive man to get him to sin if he were to gain back the rule of earth.

He chose to approach Eve; she was the weaker of the two. Why was she the weaker of the two, because she had not been formed of the earth as Adam, she had not walked as long with Father, and she received her knowledge either through husband or through their mutual relationship with Father, she was not a warrior but a nurturer. Lucifer deceived Eve by using the same desire that had caused him to fall from heaven. That is, you can be like the Most High. You can know what He knows without going to Him (or Adam) to learn. She could get an independent source of knowledge making her free of submission putting her equal or above both her husband and God. Lucifer used the way that Yahweh designed woman to fulfill her role in being fruitful and multiplying to tempt her. The fruit was pleasing to the eye, good to eat and a source of knowledge.

Lucifer spoke to Eve through a creature called a serpent, since she had no knowledge of evil and could thus not hear him in the spirit. He did not have access to man’s mind. It’s implied that the serpent could talk to man since Eve did not think this unusual. Lucifer asked Eve about just what God had said about eating from the Tree. Her response was that they could not eat nor touch the fruit of the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil lest they die. Now touch was not in the original commandment. I suspect that Adam added that since he knew that Eve was touch sensitive. Lucifer then challenged Yahweh’s command by saying that you shall not surely die because God knows that when you eat you will become like Him and He does not want you to be free from Him. This was the first of many lies spoken on earth. So Lucifer accused Yahweh one of his own characteristics, pride. Eve had never seen death nor heard a lie, it had never happen on earth. Eve then examined the tree and determined that the fruit was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and the tree was to be desired to make one wise. So she took and ate. Then she offered it to Adam.

Now Adam had a choice to make. He could redeem his wife by forgiving her and canceling her sin, or he always had another rib, or he could join her and separate himself from Yahweh. He had never been separated from Yahweh. In any case he should have inquired of the Lord but he did not. He chose his wife over God placing her above the Lord and himself, and in that moment yielding his dominion of the earth to Lucifer, becoming his slave, he and all of his descendents and engaging in idolatry. Lucifer gained dominion and control over all the creatures of the earth and immediately imposed his hierarchical order upon them. The authority of Lucifer was imposed upon the animals causing the animals to come into the pyramid structure. That is the alpha male and alpha female of the wolf pack, pecking order of the fowl, the boss cow of the dairy herd etc., and the entire government, military and corporate structure. This is the structure of Babylon which was first directly imposed upon men by Nimrod.

Man became I conscience, up until then he was only we conscience, in perfect unity with all of creation and his Creator. He became self conscience. Self consciencousness opened the door for comparison with others and Yahweh. Man, thus became judgmental by eating of the Tree of Knowledge, for now he had an independent gage with which to judge himself and others. However, he was unable to judge any righteously because of his idolatry in choosing man over Yahweh. Pride took over, he knew better that his Creator. He went from only looking outward with good intensions for all creation to looking inward for self preservation following his new father’s footsteps in accusing others of his own sins. Man’s very nature was transformed from goodness and life, malformed into toxin and death, with no hope of restoration.

Lucifer received a new name, Satan, which means the accuser. All accusations come from Satan; it’s his nature, as do all lies. He gained access to man’s mind, spirit, body and conscience and corrupted them all with sin.  Adam and Eve now experienced nakedness and fear for the first times in their existence, and hid from their creator.  Adam became an accuser and blamed his wife for his sin. The serpent was cursed for its role and lost its splendor to crawl in the dust and become an enemy of mankind. The beautiful colors of serpents are a shadow of its former glory. It’s interesting that many of the monsters in our various movies are some form of reptile as well as space aliens according to those  who have claim to have encountered.
